C. Scrutiny Officials (SO) SO consists of 2 officials, to spot and to check or note down car details on each participant's Scrutiny Form (SF). They also have to be familiar with the RCDA car boundaries. SO could be activated in these occasions: - registration stage - random & result verification - receiving report and verify changes (made by participants on their car specifications). - Passing and collecting SFs to and from judges. all changes pertaining participant's car has to be recorded in Scrutiny Form. Scrutiny on Registration Stage First stage of Scrutiny has to be done during registration or day 1 when participants reporting in. The scrutiny will note down details of the following: - Chassis (Brand, Model, Material) Material of bottom deck and top deck if any, statement would be e.g: Carbon Fiber, Fiber glass, Plastic, etc. - Motor (Brand, Type & Model) besides motor, note has to be done as well on cooling devices. - ESC (Brand & Model) - Any additional devices on board any electronics or mechanical devices, allowed or not allowed as stated in car boundaries guidelines. - Battery (Brand, Type, Capacity & voltage) reliable voltmeter is required on site, preferably calibrated digital such as Fluke. - Tires (Brand & Model) If open tires are allowed, maximum tire width is 28mm and diameter is 63mm. - Weight (gram) proper and calibrated weighing scale preferably digital is required on site. Car has to be in full loaded state or how it will be in running condition. - Car Width (mm) proper rulers or fix gauge is required on site. Fix or pre made gauge with maximum width allowed will help in reducing scrutiny time. Scrutiny on Random & Result Stage It is important to uphold both random and result scrutiny as this help ensure that participants follow the guidelines. Random check can be set by timing, for example: 11:00 Random Check 1 11:15 Random Check 2 11:30 Rancom Check 3, and so on. after completing its run, winning car that falls on the preset timing, will be selected for random check. Result check can be run to verify a competition result, this will further fortify the Random check. It is mandatory to run Result Check on Winners of Final Round/Matches/Battles, either on EBS or other applicable sub events. Receiving report and verify changes On some occasions, participants may run into faulty components and wish to change it. Any changes made that is different to the previously recorded, has to be reported to SO. The change(s) has to be verified and approved before car is allowed to proceed to the next run. Passing and collecting SFs to and from judges SOs will be responsible to make ready and pass the SFs to judges prior to particular car turn to run. Thereafter finishing the run, SO will collect back the SFs. All SFs has to be under the care of SOs. Tire Check (only applicable with control tire scheme) Each participants belong to their respective Group (A-H) and the following marking on their tires must be inspected, no tire swapping is allowed. The coding will follow Morse Code for easier marking. Equipment: - Voltmeter
- Weighing Scale (up to 5kg, <1g accuracy)
- Rulers or dimension jig

International Competition Format |
|
A. Competition Format with Qualification Consists of Individual Qualifying Stage (IQS) and Elimination Battle Stage (EBS) IQS - Individual Qualifying Stage is a run by each participant to score as much as possible to place him/herself on the qualification roster. IQS for each participant will start with 100pts and be deducted according to how well the run was taken. The higher the result, the higher the qualifying will be. Number of runs will be determined by the organizer in relation to numbers of entries and time available. B. Competition Format without Qualification Consists of Group Stage (GS) and EBS (quarter final onwards). Participant will draw their placement in Group Stage on registration day by random. GS Each Group is made of 4-5 participants (determined by organizer) and will be doing 3 battle round robin each that gives a total of 6 battle rounds, example: Group with A, B, C and D participants - GS1: A vs B - GS2: C vs D - GS3: A vs C - GS4: B vs D - GS5: A vs D - GS6: B vs C Result Possibilities a Win will be awarded with 3 points, a Draw will gain 1 point, and loss will be 0. For 8 Group of 4, top 2 in each group will go thru to the EBS, combination in number of group and participants will be determine by organizer. Placement of Top 2 in EBS will be arranged either in random or preset by Organizer. --- EBS IQS will be followed with EBS top 32 or top 16. GS will be followed with either EBS top 16 or Top 8 Competitors with the same score will not share a position and only 16 will go through. If positions are tied for the 16th spot, a low key battle will take place to see who goes through to the top 16. Wild card entry could be considered if sometimes in the qualifying round it ended up having 2 to 3 guys eliminated or failed to qualify to either the top 8 or top 16. Match them up to bottom 2 or 3 who qualified (6-8th or 14-16th position). Bottom qualifiers have to defend their qualification against these wildcards. W1 vs Q6 (or Q14) W2 vs Q7 (or Q15) W3 vs Q8 (or Q16) Drivers in the top 16 will battle each other with each driver leading for 2 laps, with a total of 4 laps. (This can be decided depending on the layout and length of the course). Format: Top 16 1-16 8-9 4-13 5-12 2-15 7-10 3-14 6-11 The finals will be run with a total of 8 laps depending on course layout. Each driver leads for 4 laps. If drivers are scored evenly, then a sudden death round of 2 laps each will take place. Drivers battle each other and each driver starts off with 5 points. For each mistake the driver makes, points will be lost, and handed to the opposing driver, e.g., if a driver washes out, then the score becomes 6-4 to the other driver. And so on. If the OTHER driver makes the same mistake, the points then equal out again until the heat is completed. Sudden death will be awarded if judges cannot agree on a CLEAR winner. If the scores run something like 6-4 and 3-7 and a clear winner is not ascertained, it is within the judges rights to call for sudden death. The judges can also call for sudden death if they do not agree on a winner. |
